    Upgrading after 7 years of owning older Gen 1 Leafs to a 62 kWh 2019 Leaf has been both easy and very exciting. We are loving the considerable extra range while still maintaining the Leaf vehicle size which suits our whānau more than the large SUVs that are so common in the EV market. Also loving the additional safety features and integrated Apple CarPlay.

    Have driven this car for a few weeks now and all I can say is positive things about it. Switching from the ZE0 to the ZE1 has been a nice and substantial change. I think it's important to note the 2019 Nissan Leaf Nismo edition you purchase will have less range on the standard model. That would be due to the performance upgrades they allow you to have. One feature I really enjoy is the automatic climate control setting. This allows you to charge your car overnight and when you are ready to leave for work your car is at the temperature you want and your battery will still be at 100%.

    It’s very comfortable and easy to drive, I will enjoy using the heated seats and steering wheel in the colder weather, and am surprised at the amount of boot space. Cameras are super helpful for reversing.

    The Leaf is an excellent choice for those who dont have an unlimited budget but want to have an electric vehicle. It has been around in Aotearoa long enough to be well tested for our driving conditions. We live in a semi-rural location with bad roads but the Leaf is coping well and the range in the 40kw Leaf works well for us. The ride is comfortable and it has all the functions we need.

Terms and Conditions

By renting a vehicle through ACEV, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Eligibility
  • Renters must hold a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age.
  • International renters must provide a valid passport and an international driving permit if required.
Rental Period
  • The minimum rental period is one month.
  • The rental agreement may be extended upon request and approval by ACEV.
  • Vehicles must be returned on the agreed date unless an extension has been arranged.
Payment
  • Full payment for the rental period is required before the vehicle is collected.
  • ACEV accepts credit/debit cards and bank transfers.
  • A refundable security deposit may be required and will be returned after the vehicle is inspected for any damages.
Vehicle Usage
  • The vehicle must be used in accordance with New Zealand road laws.
  • The renter is responsible for maintaining the vehicle in good condition during the rental period.
  • Smoking, transporting hazardous materials, or using the vehicle for unlawful purposes is strictly prohibited.
  • Mileage limits (if applicable) and additional charges for excess usage will be stated in the rental agreement.
Insurance and Liability
  • All vehicles are covered by standard insurance. Excess charges may apply in the event of an accident.
  • The renter is responsible for the first $2500 of any damage or loss.
  • The renter is liable for any fines, tolls, or penalties incurred during the rental period.
Roadside Assistance
  • Roadside assistance is included in all rentals. Contact details for assistance will be provided upon vehicle collection.
Cancellation Policy
  • Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before the rental start date for a full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 7 days may incur a cancellation fee of $150.
Vehicle Return
  • The vehicle must be returned with the same charge level as when it was collected.
  • Additional fees may apply for late returns, excessive cleaning, or unreported damages.
Privacy and Data Use
  • Personal information collected during the rental process will be used solely for rental administration purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
